Qualities of a Good Catch
When people think of the qualities of a good catch, oftentimes, money and looks come to mind. Although having a lot of money and looking good certainly attracts a partner, money and looks alone, don’t always guarantee the safety of the relationship. Being a good catch has more to do with one’s inward qualities. Below are a few inward qualities you can focus on improving.
HONESTY & OPENNESS
Honesty and openness are qualities everyone wants in a person, but fewer are willing to give. An open and honest person tells the truth, not what they think people want to hear. The game of constantly wondering what one’s partner is thinking can quickly get mentally and emotionally exhausting. Always take your time to effectively express your thoughts and feelings- good or bad. Speak up and let your needs, wants, & feelings be known– If not, you run the risk of your love leaving…or falling for something that you are not.
SELF CONFIDENCE
Confidence is attractive. A good catch is confident in themselves and confident in who they are. Being around a confident person makes things much easier. Confidence is something that easily exudes from someone that possesses it, therefore, you won’t have to ask. After only a few times of being around a person, you will understand their level of confidence.
Having integrity is another very important characteristic that makes a great catch. A person with integrity respects everyone equally, from the CEO to the janitor… not only people that they believe they could benefit from. A person with integrity can also be relied upon & trusted. Trust is an essential building block of a firm relationship. You can also trust that over time, a person that possesses integrity will influence you to access a higher moral compass. Not only does this sort of person make a great partner, but also a great friend that you can trust.
INTEGRITY
Having integrity is another very important characteristic that makes for a great catch. A person with integrity respects everyone equally, not only people they could benefit from. A person with integrity can also be relied upon and trusted. Trust is an essential building block of a firm relationship. You can also trust that over time, a person that possesses integrity will influence you and you may access a higher moral compass. Not only do people with integrity make great partners, they also make great friends that you can trust.
POSITIVITY
With all of the issues going on in life, it seems easier to be depressed and pessimistic. When you find someone strong enough to remain positive amidst life’s negativity, be sure to keep them in your corner.
Having a positive attitude is one of the characteristics of a great catch. You will know if a person has a positive attitude by how they carry themselves, and if they look for the good in situations and people. Not only can a positive individual uplift you when needed, but they can also be infectious and over time, similar to integrity, their characteristics can influence you for the better.
Making a checklist of desired characteristics for a partner has become a sort of taboo in today’s society. However, I encourage you to still make one-even if it’s only a mental checklist. Know what you are and aren’t willing to compromise when searching for a partner. Set realistic, clear goals, it will diminish the likelihood of disappointment- which can help lead you to the right person.
